What can fly?

This week we have been exploring which animals have wings and can fly, and which ones cannot.  We told a group story and each had an animal tell the bumblebee if they slither, walk or crawl.  We also really enjoyed our new song "In the Sky"

It goes like this...to the tune of "This Old Man"
In the sky
In the sky
What do we see flying high?
We can see a ______ flying in the sky.
Yes, ___________ fly so high!

We took turns filling in the blanks with ladybugs, butterflies, dragonflies, airplanes, and helicopters.

We also discovered butterflies in the park!

Next week will be all about Insects.  If you have books about insects at home, will you bring them in (with your name in them) to share?  We will use them for special book time, so they will be safe :)
